![]() Īdditionally, before we make harsh judgments for or against the status of this tool- in comparison to ANY other, shouldn't we first determine: is DivFix++ a product of the same developer- as is implied, i believe in the comment below - as that of "DivFix "? If it's not, and the application-name was merely 'borrowed', then wouldn't it be the same as stating "until Mainconcept improves, i'm sticking w/ the older version, TMPGEnc"- after, the developer of this tool does specifically state that it is a complete "rewrite", which if true would mean that it is in fact a completely different tool. on the other hand, we have this grey area, most likely because that author states due to the bugs of DivFix. kinda crazy. No, it's not all AVI files but all recent ones - say last 2 weeks. Those that existed before that still play under WMP 10. I just got a movie that is 1.3GB and supposed to be 2hours long from file properties, but it only plays for 4 minutes and media player just says its 4minutes long. I also have SP2 installed but that has been in for a month. I have Spybot Sys Works 2005 and Adaware which don't fix it. ![]() ![]() The thumbnails thing: sometimes when I open a folder a thumbnail image of the movie will appear in the bottom left area of the screen under video tasks - details - really frustrating because you can see a pic of the intro but when you rt click the file you get the above error message. There are even versions for both 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit (圆4) operating system, and 1-click install package for Linux. I've tried logging on as a new user - same result. To repair and fix a AVI file with DivFix++, just drag and drop the files to DivFix++ window at Source File text box, or click Add Files button to select the files. Then, just click on Fix to repair the AVI files. DivFix++ is able to detect an error, no matter how simple or complex the error is, in an existing AVI file, which enables the software to strip down the index part of the file, so that it can rebuild it. Some background - I used to get an explorer.exe error message similar to above "the instruction at 0x0937415b reference memory at 0x00000000 - memory could not be written as soon as the folder was selected. It is able to do this because the index of an AVI file is at the end. ![]() Maybe you are in a position of one fault being caused by the presence of shmedia.dll and the other fault being caused because of its absence? This was fixed by removing a registry key "In Proc Server3 which apparrently prevents Explorer from loading shmedia.dll for AVI files.ĭeleting this key fixed the explorer error message - now iI get the above when I try to play them. Try Safe Mode (Do you have this problem in Safe Mode?). Try running ChkDsk to check your drive for errors. Right click your Drive icon/ Properties/ Tools/ Error Checking. Run the System File Checker program from the Run Box by typing.Sfc /Scannow in it and have your XP CD handy. RE: ActiveMovie Window: wmplayer.exe -Application Error. ![]()
